Hi All—
Hoping someone can help me with this one. I’ve never had a chick that appeared to have bald spots on the face—not sure if it’s something to be concerned about or totally normal.
She’s a 3 wk old Buff Orpington, super active, eats/drinks well, normal poop, good weight gain...she is the smallest in the crew but I haven’t noticed any excessive pecking by the others. I have noticed her scratching at her face every once in while, but again nothing excessive. They do have a dust bath, not because I was concerned about mites, just that they were trying to bathe in everything from their shavings to their food! She did have a slow start the first few days and wasn’t the most easy patient when I tried giving her drops of nutridrench, so I think those darker flecks are the result of that. Bedding is pine shavings. Diet is Purina medicated chick starter. No other chicks have similar symptoms.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas!

Addendum:
I went back to look at older pictures & videos and it looks like by day 3-4, I can see the changes on her face. I need to correct what I stated above, in the videos she actually does seem to be scratching at her face a lot more than I thought even from 1 day old — and I’m not so sure the dark flecks are old vitamin drops now, I’m starting to think it is from her scratching and excoriating her skin 😕
It’s starting to feel like it is some kind of allergy or irritation she’s reacting to but I have no clue what??

That looks similar to what some of my month old chicks have, which I think might be favis (ringworm) a fungal skin infection, which they got from one that one Silkie chick that came from the hatchery with an eye infection. I've treated some with Banixx spray, but each time I find another chick has contracted it, or more areas of the affected chicks affected. The Banuxx seems to help but I'll like to find something guaranteed to work to get rid of the favus.
