My 3 week old Maran Baby has been dealing with sour crop. Last night it was so swollen that I thought it would burst. I went and got Kefir and natural yogurt, took all the food and bedding out overnight and she seemed to have emptied it overnight. This morning I gave her a tiny bowl with the yogurt, kefir and a little olive oil. Mixed in a tiny amount of Chick starter and she ate it. About an hour later her crop felt bubbly so I massaged her and could hear the gas and it gave her some relief. She acts normal otherwise.i wasn't sure if i should give her red wine? Read a bunch of posts across the Web where people swear by it but would it not hurt such a young chick? Also how often should I feed the yogurt and should I give her scrambled egg for protein? At what point should i give her regular starter again? Any other advice? I won't make her vomit as I've read that could be fatal. I'm still fairly new to chickens and this is my first young baby. She's growing up with a silkie that's 6 weeks older than her and keeps her protected and warm. I let the silkie have her feed when I take the baby out to massage her. (They're in my laundry room currently). Thanks in advance for any advice to get this baby back to normal.
