3 week old chicks on medicated feed having bloody stools isolated from my own adult chickens

Wondering if I should take them off the medicated chick starter and give a stronger dose of corrid. I just noticed the blood a 2 days ago. They are all still eating and drinking and active..they are now on hemp bedding....also if I take them off medicated feed how long before starting corrid..

You can still give them the medicated feed with the corid because the dose in the feed is small. Medicated feed is meant to bed fed while they are gradually exposed to your soil (a clump of dirt in the brooder will work fine) so they can build up resistance to your particular strains of the bacteria.

Welcome to BYC. Pictures of the poop? They can be treated with Corid for possible coccidiosis, even while on medicated feed. The amount of amprollium in the medicated feed is so small, it doesn’t matter.
