3 week old chicks

When can i put them out in chicken coop ? I have them in brooder under heat lamp still..Was wondering when i can put them out in coop? of course sectioned off!

Whenever yu want BUT, you will have to keep them warm still. We put ours out in the barn last spring with a covered pen and heat light. They could choose to run in or out for warmth. We had nights that went only down in to the low 40's at that time. It''s really a question of housing.

As long as you have a heat lamp and no drafts and you keep them separated from the other chickens, you can pretty much put them out whenever you want. If it gets in the low 40's or 30's at night, you may want to play it safe and wait a week or two for them to become more feathered.
