I apologize if I offended you. My intent is not to be contrary, just to share a different opinion/experience.And yet many people say that dairy products are a very good treat to give birds.
Dave Holderread says in his book about ducks that milk is a very good source of protein.
Also avian vets are for parrots not actual important livestock animals like ducks.
This is true for some, but there are many avian vets that specialize in poultry. Also avian vets are for parrots not actual important livestock animals like ducks.
I tried the scrambled eggs, no diceAlso some scrambled eggs would help
I understand this poor little duckling cannot go without food or water, but if you keep adding more and more food & water to her system and she isn't pooping it is going to kill her. She desperately needs a vet. I'd be inclined to go to an er vet at this point.Update: I wasn't able to make it to the appointment. When I realized I couldn't take the poor baby, I tried to find someone else in the rescue to take her, but no one was available. I hoped to fit into a cancellation, but there weren't any. Maybe tomorrow . . .
I was able to give her sub-q fluids thanks to a wildlife rehabber friend, and she did eat a tiny bit more. It seems that when she does eat, she eats about three bites then stands there for about five minutes like it makes her not feel good. I think there's definitely something going on inside her. Still no poop that I've been able to note.
I don't know if it's just my ducks that pooped like crazy when they were put in warm water, but maybe try putting her into a warm bath and see if perhaps it stimulates her bowels a little.I tried the scrambled eggs, no dice.
