3 week old white Astrawhite chick

Hello all. New here. I just had a 3 week old Straw Hite chick die. She lost her ability to get her legs under her, and started to open and close her mouth as if she was struggling to get air. We separated har and tried to nurse her back to health, but she did not recover. We tried surgery water, hobbling her legs, but she had no ability to get her legs under her. Has anyone never seen these symptoms before? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have been thru some of those symptoms with my chickens. Do you think you could do a necropsy on it? So sorry for your loss!
It sounds like a respitory diseases or infection.
For that I would have given it VetRx , vitamin B complex and E . Keep an eye on the others to see how they are doing.

Sorry for your loss. It would be hard to know what the cause of death was. Was she eating and drinking, and did she have any diarrhea? At that age, coccidiosis might be a possible cause, but it could have been something else. Do you have others who are all doing well?

Thanks for your response. She was drinking, and eating but we had to help her do that. She didn't have diarrhea. All the others are doing well.
