3 Week Olds Turning Canibals

I agree with what most have said such as more room, use a red heat lamp, lower the temp 5 degrees per week (should be 80 degrees at 3 weeks of age), and give them things to help relieve boredom. I do have one question--what are you feeding them? It's critical for them to have a proper diet with the right amount of protein for their age.

What are your daytime temps like? Are they getting out for a while? When mine were 3 weeks and I let them outside they would run around crazy flapping their wings for a few minutes "celebrating" their freedom. If you have a sheltered area that is heated that they could come in to get warm when they need it and run around outside during they day that might help, then bring them in at night to protect them from the lowest temps.

Just my 2 cents.

Daytime temps in the 40's night in the 20's. I am using a red light and have been reducing temps 5 degree per week. I am feeding Purina medicated chick started.

I will make an outside pen for them to run in during the day

If you can't find a "flock block" (they don't know what one is at my feed store) then just get a plain ole birdseed suet block. I give mine one about every week -- don't want to over-do it since it's mostly fat.
We want those youngsters to eat their "real food" but a treat now and then won't hurt them. I hang it up in a suet holder (also sold with the regular birdseed stuff) for added entertainment trying to catch the durn thing!!! lol

If you want something entertaining to hand feed, or throw on the ground to scratch at, try feeding mealworms. They are high in healthy protein and probably THE most favoritest treat!! You can find them at Petsmart/Petco and similar stores where reptile food is sold.
