I bought a couple chicks last week and they all seemed healthy enough and the other day I noticed that one of them was hopping, and I thought it was kind of cute and then I realized it was hopping because one of his legs aren’t working… I’ll find him laying there with his leg out to the side. The other leg works just fine. The leg sometimes trembles/shakes while I’m holding him, I don’t know if the shaking is from being scared or nervous or if it’s part of whatever’s going on… I can move his leg and he doesn’t act like he’s in pain, but he cannot seem to move it . He’s peeping and seems ok otherwise. I have had the worst luck and it’s bumming me out. I haven’t had a sick chicken in quite a while but I lost 2/3 of last years flock over the period of 8-10 months. Vet suspected marecks. This years chicks have done amazing. One loss and it was to a cat. But this little guy has something going on and I am hoping he’s fixable. I’m tired of losing chickens. Any ideas? I was looking at AE but that doesn’t seem quite right. Is there a supplement he can have or ???.

Is there any possible wedge or somewhere in the brooder/wherever you house them where he could have gotten his leg stuck??

But this result in his leg could be a few scenarios, which MIGHT be merek's (hopefully not) but also there's straddle leg, which is a development for newly hatched chicks, but that's only if their legs are splayed out to it's sides.

Do they get that when they’re few weeks old? He seemed fine before. Hopefully not merecks. They’re all silkie/satin she said and two polish. I bought all vaxxed chicks this year except these guys. 🥺

No, they only get straddle leg when their newly hatched when just out of the egg, not when their over a week old though.
But this is only my opinion, but you have to be careful when you get chicks who are vaccinated since chicks tend to have more health issues from getting vaccines from one day old, but ide separate the limping chick one for the time being if he isn't getting pushed around.
Do you think trying to straighten his leg out with a popsicle stick and some medical tape would do some good for his limp?

I tried that with one of my speckled Sussex. No luck but that was for feet. I gave him some rooster booster b12 and another b2 supplement yesterday and this morning he looked a little more mobile. 🤞🏻

Okay great, yes these supplements usually work best, and maybe even try different dried herbs in their feed, many herbs can be used as sources to boost their health or any signs of illness etc.
*Just make sure to research and see tye benefit for chicks depending what herb

Can you post any pictures of the leg? A video uploaded to YouTube with a link posted here can be helpful. B complex tablets have all B vitamins , and dosage is 1/4 to 1/2 tablet daily given orally or crushed into food.
