I have a 3-4 week old chick who has become more and more lethargic the last few days. She will rouse when you bring to food or water and occasionally when you enter the room but lays right back down after a bite or sip. Her abdomin seems swollen but I’m new to this so I could be wrong about that. She had a problem with pasty butt early on, but now her vent stays clear but she usually has poop stuck to her tummy.
I have chicks (in a separate brooder) about a month ahead of her and I don’t recall them ever being that lazy or bloated.
The affected chick is a Polish and is in a brooder with 3 silkies who are just shy of a week younger than her.
We use ACV in their water, and medicated chick started feed, and chick grit.
All advise is welcome. Should I separate her? Am I making mountains out of mole hills?
Please let me know if you need more info to give me advice.
Thanks!
