We have 4 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes who are approximately 3 wks. old and I'm curious if anyone has a guess as to what sexes we have? Sorry for the large amount of photos but it was tough to get good ones and I figured more was better.

And then there's this one who we think is a boy. I also think he's a Black Laced Red Wyandotte.

Thoughts???

Oh bummer--how old do they have to be before a guess can be made?

And I got these from a breeder who said she believed the darker one was a Black Laced Red Wyandotte.

Don't be discouraged about your Black laced. Gold laced and the black BLRW's do look similar.

Also, I think it is a little early to tell gender.

Well, BLRW are just like any other chicken with the blue gene, they hatch out blue, black and splash. The black look like the GLW. Mine are the same age and it is too early to tell anything just yet.

Guess I could have just said I agreed with acid_chipmunk...lol

by 6 weeks you should see a noticable difference in comb color-All mine (29) I guessed 100% correct at that age. yours are still to young sorry-pretty though:-)

They are ALL adorable for sure but I'll have to find new homes for any roos.

Hopefully we'll end up w/at least 1 Blue Laced Red girl and we'll see about the rest.

I will definitely keep an eye on comb color as the weeks go by!
