Its been really hot here & tonight before going to bed I read that the temps may get down to low 60’s. I have 3 day olds using my mama’s HP in the brooder. I have a second heating pad but no cave part. I took it to the coop & the huddled group got onto it. My problem is I don’t know the surface temp for Low, Med, High settings, I put it on Medium. My question is, will they move off if it’s too hot? Since they are sleeping, would they not move off. I know during the day they go on top with it set to Medium. They will nap or rest. I’m worried, maybe it’s better if I put it on Low. Better to be too cold than burn up? Maybe someone’s up @ can reassure me.

They will move off of it if they're too hot. Don't worry. You Can Always Put It On loW If You Would Feel Better About it.
