30$ 7ft chicken run!

I used PVC pipe, free pallets, and zip ties along with some screws and brackets. We are building nesting boxes on part of the frame and a thick PVC chicken feeder on the other. Ill post final pics soon. Very simple design

that's awesome! must make one myself. We've lost too many chickens to hawks and coyotes out here. But they LOVE to free-range. Mostly I keep them in now, and only let them out occasionally for a few hours in the late afternoon or early evening. I can't lose anymore!

rough front view of the nesting boxes. (This is all scrap wood so we did what we could!) it's not completely screwed together just yet. We are going to use lattice/ trellis to close it in on both sides and make a gate.. So, all in all, maybe 40-50$ run... Not bad ;)

You
Thank you. Did you have to do anything special to get the bend? It didn't seem to want to bend that far at the store...
you want it to be a right sturdy frame. Just screw in the bracket thingy and slide it in, then screw the opposite bracket and bend it to slide it in. It makes a nice arch.

Nice. The one I just built is almost like yours. I put pallets on edge, used 1/2" pvc pipe with connectors to make each one 14'. I screwed each end into the pallets. I then used 1/4" carrage bolts to fasten 1 x4's onto the pvc every 2'. I then pulled a tarp over the whole thing. I had put up welded wire fencing on the outside of the pallet walls before I put the pvc up. I then used zip ties to fasten the tarp on. My run is 10' x 10'. I put my pvc pipe 12" o.c.
