My hubby built me the same coop last year. I've decided to make some amendments to mine this summer. To increase interior space, I'm going to remove the nest boxes and add them to the exterior. I've also noticed the hens bicker over the top left-hand corner of the roost (apparently all of mine covet this spot), so after I move the nest boxes I'm going to amend the roosts to be the same height all the way across. I think this will give me more floor space for feeders, waterers, etc. And give my free-rangers more room to hang out in the coop on rainy days.
I wish I had put down linoleum and painted mine, but it was finished so late in the year there just wasn't enough time. BUT - the plans are in the works to clean it out, power wash it, and paint/etc in a few weeks. I LOVE the way yours looks! I've been stumped on how to decorate it a little on the outside to pretty it up - but I love what you've done!
