30 hours to lock-down

In short
jumped in at the deep end, build a incubator , place 61 chicken eggs inside and gently turned them every 8-12 hours. day 8 candled them with 14 non starters, was amazed to see the embryos move and then major power outage 30 hours. ups with 2 batteries kept them warm but failed and the temp dropped to 87 f . start the generator to bring them back to 99.5 f . 12 hours later generator fail, back to batteries witch fails during the knight, next morning temp at 69 f , got them back to temp and prayed. day 14 removed 4 after candling.
candled 43 (2 rip) 38 filled there shells and 2 seems to be 3-4 days behind but still active.

Q: Do I lock down all or do I lock down 38 and let the 2 late bloomers incubate some more?

Lock down all. The two are likely weakened and, if not, an early lock down for them won't matter. Turning is most important in the beginning of development.

Thanks, I built a second incubator with better ventilation and humidity control for the lock down since I calculated 61 eggs would require about 8.4 (ft3) oxygen by day 18

38 on lock down, kept 1 fighting half-ling in. not sure if I should have seen movement in the 38 .

20 days to the hour since I put them in and 3 has pipped and one is already yelling at me

OK, now at the end of day 23 .....I am the proud carer of 28 new rugged Pure-blood .
Even the "half-ling" came out fighting( turned her for 2 more days to fill her shell) 1 day lock and zip.
lost 1 that could not zip still have 10 eggs that did not pip( when do I call it?)

Never give up and don't surrender !!!

Very Happy with the 28 survivors after all they had to endure.
in SA we have Load shedding ( electricity cuts for 2.5 hours or some times twice a day)
these guys had to endure 8 of those
