3am Crowing.

Hello chicken peeps, our roo started crowing at around 3-3:30 am ever since the time change. It goes on until about 6:30. He might do it a couple more times then stops. Any one have any experience with this? Will it continue. He is waking other family members and they are not happy I won't put any collar or anything cruel, just wondering if this behavior is normal. Tia!

Something may be waking him at that time. A light going on in your or a neighbor's house, newspaper being delivered, predator visiting - anything to spark his vocalization. Do you have a night light in the yard ?

No, It is very dark. He just started this since the time change. He used to start to crow at around 6:30-7am.

Have any of the neighbors had a work hour change since the time change ? Something is disturbing him.

Mine crow regularly at around 2. Not sure what gets the first one going, but when he starts, the other 13 currently here start ad well.

Mine started too at 4 goes til 7, today I heard coyotes in the distance very lightly so pretty far away don’t think that triggered it...
