Beautiful! What species would this one be? The tiny froglet and turtle are adorable too.

Just calculated, we're expecting 99f today!

Anything the girls lay today is going to start cooking! Guess I'll just have to put them in the 'bator...

That's a Dendrobates Tinctorius, the color morph is called an Azureus. It's a poison dart frog (they have no toxins in captivity). For the most part they have no "common names" and hobbyists refer to them by their latin names. I have HUNDREDS with about 50 different species in every color you can think of.

So...did I tell you all I have a broody? It's Hissyfit, and she no likey me touchy her eggies.

I wish I knew when they were due.

Well one week and a day right?

It's so nice to have some time off right now. I just enjoyed sitting and watching the chickens today. The broody and her 6 chicks are awesome to watch. She is such an attentive mother.

I've GOT to get some pics for y'all. Mañana!

I might--she's a good mommy, but I am not sure where I'd put her. I am in process of tearing down the extra quarantine cage...Maybe she could brood in with the silkies? I am afraid if the silkies see a chick, they'll all plop down mid-step and go broody.

Oh no! My heart goes out to you as yours has undoubtedly landed on the floor with a bigger thud than your tray.

Remember, accidents happen.... And who hasn't dropped an egg? After all, if it were easy, EVERYBODY would be overrun with chickens by now. None of us can be perfect all the time....we're only human and, yes, prone to a lack of grace on occasion.

So... Did you even bother to eggtopsy or was it all a lost cause?

They were a total loss. It was all I could do just to get them cleaned up off the tile floor. I could hardly look at them knowing I caused it. So, no eggtopsy this time although I do check all eggs that do not hatch.

Thanks everyone for your supportive thoughts and comments. Have a wonderful holiday!!

I wish I could keep some of those, we aren't allowed to have them.

Now I'm going to google them for more pics and info.
