Because they're extinct.

Hard to argue with a thirty year old's conviction.

My husband, ever the nerd, said of course they don't, they are like chickens they have a cloaca and don't have an a-n-a-l(won't let my type this) sphincter so they can't fart. So you can tell your 6 year old he's right.

Would one of those work as a silkie coop?

You can, but it gets pretty crowded with 4 adult silkies. For chicks it is Awesome!

DH modified ours to have the bigger waters without taking up all the floorspace.

I candled my eggs last night and out of 14 eggs set, I had 13 chicks waving at me (no one can convince me that foot movement was not them waving)

The 14th egg appeared clear, so had no development.

This is my is my first time ever to hatch and I can see this being addictive.

I was disappointed that I won't be able to try the Valentine's hatch. I'm going on vacation about 4 days after the set day. I'll be on a day long road trip up to the Oregon coast, staying at a timeshare for a week and driving back. Then I started thinking...............they make adapters so you can plug small electrical devices into your cigarette lighter, don't they?

Yikes!
