3rd Annual New Year's Day Hatch!!

I'm sure others who have more experience will sound off but I would not put either of the two eggs into lockdown. The clear most definitely but not the partially developed one either. I would be afraid that the hatching chicks would crack the bad eggs and make themselves sick.

Nah, they won't get sick and it'd be hard for them to break the eggs. They'd just take up valuable hatching space.

I was just gonna say that, too!

Wow I thought bad eggs could explode and contaminate the other eggs! This is great to know that that is only a myth

....you're sniffing your eggs.

LOL, I've been removing the plug in the incubator and taking a deep sniff each day. Last night when I did my last candling, I put my nose directly on each egg and took a good sniff,

How about if I discarded the egg that went nowhere and placed the egg I "think" stopped developing into something to keep it separate from the eggs on their sides?

I have a Hovabator 1588 which holds 42 eggs in the racks and only 14 eggs set. Space is not an issue.
