Hi have a 3 week old solo hatched mini Wyandotte, I have just moved her to a bigger cage with mix of straw and sawdust and a towel, up to now she has had a heat plate in a smaller box.
My question is, is it too soon to remove the heat plate during the day? She is in front of the wood stove, which is only alight during the day, so I was going to add the heat back in at night.
I am used to quail, this is my first chicken, she wasn’t supposed to be a solo! Quail grow much more quickly and would be mostly without heat night and day now.
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

What is the ambient temperature where you are keeping her? She may get by just fine with a huddle box.
What is your plan to get her some flock mates?
I have tried, unfortunately where I am there are few options for chicks, I had some lined up for last week but the breeders incubator failed at day18. So she now has to wait until 6th March at the earliest.
Day time temp in the kitchen is 18-23’C / 64-73’f over night it drops to 14/57 c/f.
I will keep an eye on her obvs, and put the heater back in if she starts to fret!
Thanks
