3wk old Peking duck is aggressively pecking at newborn.

We have one 3 week old Peking duck that is sweet. We think it is female based upon its sound. I was sad it had no other duck to keep it company. We aquired another duckling that was born today. we were so excited to bring it home to keep our other duck company. I know the ducks are curious and do peck sometimes but this was so aggressive and I was afraid it was going to hurt/ kill the newborn. Any suggestions? How do you integrate older ducks and younger ducks? Will they try to kill each other to be territorial?

your using a brooder right. some how fashion a divider between them using plastic fencing or something else they can see through, and that way the new born and the older duckling can get to know each other and the tiny one can get strength and age on it before being introduced to the rebel rouser. lol. they will most likely be best buddies but it does take a while. and

After close to a week giving the littlest one a chance to grow a bit and strengthen try putting them together outside or on the floor and see how your oldest acts. that way it doesn't feel threatened by having the duckling in it's space, after this time together try removing the fence or what ever your using and see how it goes, you may not have to put it back in, just be ready to if there is a problem. It takes time but they will become buddies.
