So 4 out of our 10 chickens aren't going into their new coop at night and I keep having to get them from the roof of their old coop then put them in. My dad and I will be building a yard for them once we get some dry, sunny days where we won't be slipping in the mud. But until then, is there a way to get those 4 hens to go into their new coop after free ranging all day??
The only time I can get them to go in for bed time, is when I take a small scoop of food out and put it in the bowl I keep in the coop but I don't want to keep doing this.
I thought that since I had them locked up in the new coop, right after building it, for a few days, they would have understood that it was their new home. They only remember where their food, water, and nesting boxes are.
