I didn't think to closely evaluate white spot on head when they arrived at 1 day old.

I have three total. Two are identical in coloration and comb. One is different.

TWO IDENTICAL ONES:
- More coloration (pink) to comb
- Comb not raised at all... no ridge to it... but some pink coloration and really wide.
- Mostly black with pretty vivid white bars

DIFFERENT ONE:
- Less coloration to comb. Almost a neutral human skin tone
- Comb is very thin, but it is raised / ridge shaped.
- Mostly black bird, with white barring, but black/white contrast not as stark. Transition black-to-white more muddy.

Pictures to follow...

Subject 1 and 2 (the two similar chicks)

The odd man out. Less barring, less contrast in barring. Come has more ridge to it, but much thinner over all and less color to it

it.

Well, first, they're not barred rocks. Their Dominiques, which have a rose comb as opposed to the barred rock's single comb. At least the ones pictured.
The last one looks like a cockerel to me, I assume the last bit of pics is the same bird. Not sure on the first one.

Ok, that last post, that looks like a barred rock, and a pullet.

Okay... so the first 12 pictures in that single post are two birds. You're saying those are Dominiques, huh? I gotcha. They are definitely different than the third.

Then there's a separate post with a total of four pictures. That is the unique bird, and bird #3 of the three in question. Your saying it looks like a barred rock pullet. That's great to hear!

What do you think about the two dominques? In person they are identical, so whatever one is, I'm sure the other is as well.

Thanks for the help! We had way more delivered than were on order. I have the capacity to care for all of them and as we've gotten to know each one, I want to part with as FEW as possible. Hoping not to have too man cockerels.

Thanks again.

where did you order them from?
I think the one I pointed out is a cockerel... The first one may be as well. If you didn't order doms, and they were 'packing peanuts' to keep your order warm, they may well be cockerels.

Which one did you point out?

Cackle Hatchery. Was supposed to be an assortment of 15 multi colored layers. Their pick.

"Rose Comb"... quick google search and I am now familiar with the comb types. This would definitely explain why the Dominques looked so much different from the one BR. I'm thinking that my Dominques may in fact be pullets. Hoping that the BR is as well. All three are neat looking adults.
