Lori it was 30 out of 56 shipped serama eggs. I have a friend who raises and breeds and he sends them to me to help get a nice flock started. I just use a styrofoam hovabator....it has the forced air and automatic thermostat.

That's a pretty good hatch rate for shipped eggs. Does your friend raise Malaysian Serama, or the American type?

Do you have any pics you can post? I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around the tiny size the new chicks must be to come out of such small eggs. All of my other birds are large, so this bantam thing is new to me.
