These 4 beautiful hens would make a wonderful addition to any flock. Take as many or as few as you'd like. As it's winter, they're currently laying about 1-2 eggs a day altogether, but it becomes 2-4 in summer (so about an egg every other day each). All are just under 1 year old. I'm forced to sell them because of moving. These ladies are like family to me and I'm keen to find them a happy home. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Hedwig:
The sweetest little lady I've ever met. I consider her a sort of "project" hen because of ongoing health problems. She seems to have some sort of respiratory condition that, despite vet visits and 2 rounds of antibiotics, hasn't cleared up. It seems to be genetically related and DOES NOT transfer to other hens. This DOES NOT affect her quality of life - she is happy, eats and drinks and even lays, and manages just fine. She just needs some extra TLC, especially in winter where she could use some supplemental proteins and other snacks. She'll need help with the stress of transitioning to a new flock as well. She would LOVE to stay with Trixie, who has been her buddy since her arrival at my little backyard farm and is a big sister to her. She is small and submissive and will need some time to adjust to a new flock as she's prone to being bullied.
Trixie:
Small, but tough and sassy. Quite the loudmouth! Trixie is not a wyandotte cross as far as I can tell - her breed is unknown. She is a absolutely fantastic layer, and though she's never gone broody, she shows tendencies for being a good mother. She'd LOVE to stick with her "little sister" Hedwig, whom she dotes on and cares for.
Lillith:
An absolutely beautiful hen. Her unique wyandotte feather colour has frequently drawn attention. She loves people, and won't mind sitting on your lap if you give her a chance. She will beg for snacks! She'd prefer to stick with her sister, Buttercup.
Buttercup:
BIG, mother hen, queen of her flock. She's a wonderful sassy lady, and yet not a boss or a bully. When we introduced Hedwig and Trixie, she kept the other hens from excessively bullying them, despite being unfamiliar with them herself. Lays big, rust-red eggs. Confident and proud. Would prefer to stick with her sister Lillith for company.
Again, these wonderful girls mean a lot to me so I'd really like to see them go to a good home willing to give them the attention and care they deserve. Please contact me with any questions.
