THIS IS A **** PRESALE ****

Up for bidding are

4 + Chocolate Muscovy Duck hatching eggs.

The males can grow to be quite large, weighing 10-15 lbs. Most of the females are 5-7 pounds but can reach up to 9 and sometimes 10 lbs. Their feet are equipped with strong sharp claws for grabbing tree branches and roosting. Muscovys are unique because of their bright red crest around their eyes and above the beak. They do not swim much because their oil glands are under developed compared to most ducks. Muscovy hens can set three times a year, and the egg clutches can vary from 8 to 21 eggs. The eggs are incubated for 35 days. Picture shown is of our flock of Chocolate Muscovy ducks.

Shipping is $16.00 to the lower 48 states plus Alaska by US Postal Service Priority Mail, usually 2 to 3 days. We do not ship outside of the United States or to Hawaii or Puerto Rico, sorry.

We ship eggs well packed. We ship fresh and fertile eggs and are not responsible for USPS handling. You know the weather conditions on your end and should bid accordingly. We are not responsible for frozen eggs because of the weather.

Pay-Pal only!

This is a Pre-Sale. Due to new regulations, we may not be able to sell Muscovy hatching eggs after 3/31/2010. So all sales must be finalized before midnight 3/31/2010. We will ship 4 + Chocolate Muscovy hatching eggs as soon as possible. The breeders have recently been moved, so may delay some in resuming their laying. Order today to be grandfathered into the new regulations.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HATCHING!!! Be sure to let us know how your hatch turns out. Please give feedback when the eggs arrive not when they hatch. There are too many variables on a hatch rate, which we have nothing to do with. If you have questions feel free to contact us. Thank you for looking and reading down to this point.

Notice:

These eggs are being sold as meat only poultry in compliance with the new regulation. By buying these eggs you agree that they will be used only in food production and will not be released onto the wild. We are documenting who you are and how many eggs you bought and upon request from USFWS, will turn this information over to them, if there is a question about why you bought the eggs . Don't know how long we will be able to do this, so if you are wanting Muscovys now maybe one of the last chances you have to aquire them.

Below is the link to the file that explains the US Fish and Wildlife Service new regulation.

The new regulation states Muscovys are not legal to buy, sell or trade after march 31,2010 unless for food use.

According to those regulations "these new proposed rules do not deal with domesticated farm populations." Doesn't this mean that it doesn't apply to farm use of the Muscovies or am I reading it wrong?

CFR 21.54 - Muscovy Duck

The Muscovy Duck now occurs naturally in southern Texas, so it has been added to the list of birds protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (50 CFR 10.13). This species has been introduced in other areas throughout the U.S. where it is an exotic species, and it is widely raised in captivity for food.

To control the spread of Muscovy Ducks in areas outside their natural range, the Service also published a Control Order (50 CFR 21.54) that allows control of feral Muscovy Ducks, their nests, and eggs in areas outside their natural range (50 CFR 21.54). Other regulations finalized at the same time as the listing and Control Order that restrict possession of Muscovy Ducks and require a permit to sell captive-bred Muscovy Ducks for food will not be administered at this time because the Service plans to revise those regulations in the near future.
