One of my 4 day old chicks is no longer walking and cannot stand up. The flooring is not slippery in the brooder. Woke up to loud chirping and when I went to check in on them this chick was unable to get up. The chick hatched with no problems and from what I seen they all had no difficulties getting up and moving around soon after hatching. So im not sure now what im supposed to do. This is my second time hatching my own eggs- any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

how long since it stopped walking? are its legs paralysed or does it try to stand? if it can still move then I'm guessing you should treat for splayed leg ASAP (though I never had it happen to a chick beyond day old before)

This morning when I got up was first i seen. I check them through the day and before bed. It’s not even trying 😢 not even when I try to help it stand.
And just keeps going to sleep but will wake up and let me give it water.

The splayed leg is couldn’t find anything over a day old but i did go ahead and start treating just in case. But i know hardly anything about it beyond a google search..

This chick, Quazzy was very splayed. And could not keep up with the other chicks. I set him up a separate pen. He got to rest, and not struggle. I tried to repair his legs but she struggled so I stopped. When he was 2 weeks old. I got him some day old chicks from the feed store. He cured himself, because he didn't have to fight older chicks, and when he got new ones the was older.

I would advise keep him away from chicks his age. For now.
