Tractor supply gave me two splayed leg chicks to try and care for, but they were very thirsty and weak when I got them. One of them has already passed on, but the other one I’m much more hopeful for. I need some help figuring out what to do next I took a video of her below. In the video you should be able to see the little leg sling thing I made for her and I put it on her last night. All the videos I was watching were saying that they would figure out how to stand within a couple of minutes of the leg sling, but it’s been a full day and she still can’t stand up on her own her thighs stick out on the side too much and if I try putting her in a cup to make her stand, she just like lets her face slide down along the side like a crumpled mess instead of trying to stand on her own. Is the leg sling wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Do I just need to hold her in a standing position for hours a day? I don’t know what to do. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
Also a second side issue is I have her drinking really well and drinking egg yolk concoction I’ve been making, but I can’t get her to peck at real food. I’ve tried scrambled eggs and chick feed mush, but she won’t touch it. How do I get her to eat real food too?

She is stumbling around a bit which may be a good sign. You might want to tighten the brace a bit to give more support. When they are learning how to use the brace, they learn to stand by pushing outwards on the brace with their legs. If they have to push out too much, then they can’t support underneath themselves, if that makes sense.

Because this chick is older it will probably take longer to heal (hopefully it isn’t too late.) So I guess my suggestion would be to tighten the brace and leave it on for several days, or maybe even a week depending on how she’s doing.

You can also give vitamin B complex too. I buy the liquid Walmart brand one. It is red liquid and the chicks do pretty well eating it (I put one drop on my finger at a time and put it to their beak.) make sure to get the B complex and not just the B12 liquid if you decide to try that, they look almost identical.

Is there any way to get someone to take a picture of the legs and feet at eye level from the front while you are holding the chick upright? Splay or spraddle leg is fairly easy to treat, but there also could be a different problem such as a slipped tendon or leg bone deformity.
