Tractor supply gave me two splayed leg chicks to try and care for, but they were very thirsty and weak when I got them. One of them has already passed on, but the other one I’m much more hopeful for. I need some help figuring out what to do next I took a video of her below. In the video you should be able to see the little leg sling thing I made for her and I put it on her last night. All the videos I was watching were saying that they would figure out how to stand within a couple of minutes of the leg sling, but it’s been a full day and she still can’t stand up on her own her thighs stick out on the side too much and if I try putting her in a cup to make her stand, she just like lets her face slide down along the side like a crumpled mess instead of trying to stand on her own. Is the leg sling wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Do I just need to hold her in a standing position for hours a day? I don’t know what to do. Any help and advice would be appreciated.
Also a second side issue is I have her drinking really well and drinking egg yolk concoction I’ve been making, but I can’t get her to peck at real food. I’ve tried scrambled eggs and chick feed mush, but she won’t touch it. How do I get her to eat real food too?
