Hello Everyone,
I grew up with a constant backyard flock of chickens. My mom always had Rhode Island Reds or Buff Orpingtons. Now it's my turn. We went to our local feed store and bought 3 chicks. They were labeled as Welsummers, but when I came home and did some research...I don't think they are Welsummers...I think they have too much dark. After looking around online I think they're either Barnevelders or Golden Laced Wyandottes. I'm leaning toward the GLW because I don't see any razoring for the single comb of the Barnevelders. What do you all think?

Not sure what they are, other than cute, but you're right that they're not wellies!

When would a single comb show up? If a single comb should be peeking out by now...then they're definitely rose combed. They're 5 days old right now and there isn't any sign of a single comb...and I seem to remember our young RIRs having a single comb peeking out quite young...but I can't remember exactly how young.

Ok, pretty sure I don't see them then, so I'm thinking they're rose combs. Here's a pic of the first feathers coming in if that helps any. And a pic of the chicks from today, click on it to make it larger...I don't see any single combs poking out. I tried to get a close up of the face but my camera blew out the comb area so those pictures won't work.
So...probably GLW's? If they have a rose comb?

Okay those feathers are GLW! The first pics you posted looked like my PR when they were little fuzzy butts.:)
