I went out to check on the girlies and give them their treats and clean the coop. When I let them out to forage I noticed one of the golden sexlinks (one of the older ones) had a pale comb. I looked her over and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.... I checked her poo which looked normal.

So. Pale comb. I know this can be a sign of her being sick, is there anything specifically I need to be looking for? Or any preventive measures? Should I separate her from the other girls? (Who are all looking wonderful!) Am I being over dramatic?!

Any advice, suggestions or anything really would be much appreciated!

Sorry! I realized I should take some pictures and then had issues uploading them! She didn't really want to stay still for a good body shot (we have a nasty storm over us right now!)

Thanks, too bad there's a storm. Looks like the wattle is a little pale too. What are the things that you feed to your chickens and did you notice them eating something odd? And is the comb warm, at least?

We feed them Layena... they get scratch grains, but don't normally go for it (some of the stuff in the scratch grains has actually started to grow, which they eat...) They eat grass when we let them forage (for a couple hours a day) we give them grapes, yogurt, zucchini....About once a week an ear of corn.. but thats about it. Oh. My husband helps them look for bugs. lol. So they eat lots of ear wigs, worms and crickets... Sometimes they get some whole grain wheat bread, but not often.

and the comb is not warm. Its relatively cool compared to the rest of her body.

ALSO, it wasn't like this yesterday.

Alrighty, I compared hers to the rest of the girls and they all felt the same..... I also gave her the bread with olive oil... and will continue to do so.... Anything I should keep an eye out for?
