Got him a few weeks ago and my hens weren’t too welcoming. He has grown afraid of the hens, he won’t go near them and is by himself all day. Two of my 3 hens don’t really pay him no mind, but one will still chase him around so I keep her away. What are the chance that he’ll get older and will stop being scared? Will his hormones help him get over his fear, when they kick in?

Yes, he is just not ready yet. If he is not being killed, I would leave him there, it does a juvenile rooster some good to be educated by older hens. Then one day the switch will flip, and he will be the leader.

Thanks, glad to hear he will eventually be a part of the flock.
