4 month old Serama roo died suddenly

I dont' know what happened to him. he hatched out 11/28/09 and has been inside with fresh bedding, fresh food and water daily. I come home from school today to find him dead in his box.

Anyone ever have this happen before? any ideas as to what may have happened to him. if it helps i only fed him chick starter and plain yogurt. he got vitamin supplement in his water every sunday. I dont' know what went wrong.

It sometimes just happens. You can check him thoroughly to see if he had any abnormalities such as a broken neck from falling. If you have other chickens you should check them well too especially their stool to rule out severe worms or coccidia. Again, my sympathies.

Serama have a habbit of this, I lost my only white rooster the same why last fall, sorry for your loss

he was wormed 2 weeks ago so i dont' think it was worms and he didn't seem to have anything wrong with him physically. he was my pet so he stayed in the house (in a box in my bathroom when i am away to keep hom outa trouble) and followed me around when i am home. the only other chickens in the box with him were 2 chicks about a week old. He was fine when i left for school this morning. i loved him up before i left for school everyday and i am never gone for more than 3 hours. he didn't act sick at all. thank you for helping with what might have caused him to die and thank you for your condolences as well.
