So we have 16 chickens and 4 ducks that will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. Anyways I go to Tractor Supply to get some meal worms so I always look to see what chicks they have. Last couple times they had golden sex links, white leghorns, and meat chickens. On the day ours came in the mail I bought 4 more just in case some did not make the trip. Well they all made it so we have 4 extra. So I walk in and they have Barred Rocks and Ameraucanas. Ameraucanas were the only ones not available when we ordered the first 12. Anyways the others already have the run but have yet to go in the coop. They all sleep on the ground so we are just brooding the new ones in the coop for a couple weeks then we are gonna turn them loose with the rest. I was worried about how the other chickens and ducks would treat them but I think I already know. The other day while cutting grass I found a baby bird on the ground. I had no where to put the bird so I put it in the run with the others. They looked it over and pretty much ignored it for a few hours. Later in the day the momma bird showed up and I turned it loose. So now we have 20 chickens...lol. That might change cause we think a couple of the originals maybe become roosters. We have couple that are a little bigger than the rest and are starting to develop a decent sized comb as compared to the others.
