Once my first born took to the technique, every other bird followed suit and figured it out. So glad!
The shield on the trough is for protection from the elements and to keep the feed hoggers from jumping on top and blocking access to everyone else.
A snap on cover that prevents access completely.
What it looks like snapped into place and protecting my feed. Not sure I'll ever use it, but just in case....
Where it hangs now and some bricks so the little guys can reach the nipples. I'll assume that I'll need to move it as they grow and will adjust as needed.
