4 week chick - head shaking

Hi - I have a 4 week old chicken and it keeps shaking it's head every couple seconds, like it's trying to shake something off its head. Is that just the feathers coming in or do I have a bigger issue? She did this the other day for a bit but then it seemed to go away. Now she's doing it again. I'm feeding them an all inclusive feed that has multi-vitamins, including Vitamin E. Welcome any insight or calming feedback.

I have silkies and had one from a breeder do that head shaking thing. With E and scrambled eggs for a few weeks she got better, but to this day three years later, she still does it, just not as bad.

Shaking heads can also mean it's got an ear infection or other problems. Do you see any other symptoms of anything? Generally, chickens that are healthy to start can get over minor things like that themselves, but if not, might need an antibiotic.

I'd give her/them a vitamin boost with some Poultry Cell water every other day for a couple of weeks and see if she improves or digresses. If the latter, you can get antibiotics online if you don't have any.

What exactly are you feeding? Aby scratching? Loss of balance?
