How's your girl today? This is my first chance to catch up on threads.
I agree with the previous post of providing unfiltered ACV (with mother in it)
Mine get it with their daily watering and they love it. When I run out and they
have to drink regular water, I have noticed they drink less water.
I used to measure it and introduced it to them gradually. Now I just add a
glug or two into their waterer (approx a gallon of water) and they are good to go. (I have
read that you should not do this if you are using any type of metal waterer.
Some reaction happens between the vinegar and the metal. Mine is plastic.)
I also provide my girls food grade diatomaceous earth in their coop bedding,
their feed on occasion, their dust bathing box and their nest box.
The olive oil I gave was just out of a syringe type medicine dropper (no needle) that I
previously used to give my grandson liquid medication when he was a baby.
At first I held her in my lap and calmed her a bit, had to gently pry the hens mouth open
with my fingers. I got pecked a bit but the second day, she actually just started drinking
at the end of the syringe. I probably only gave a few drops.
Hoping to hear back from you that all has worked out already. Peace, KJ
