4 week old babies

My chicks are trying to dust bath in their tub in the house when can I put some DH dirt in with the pine shavings? Their is a little black one in the back

I give mine dirt to play in at about 3 days. Helps with the boredom and picking. The biggest problem with dirt inside is the amount of dust they can make. Those guys are plenty big and feathered to be outside in a dog pen during the day.

They are very cute! I agree, I put my chicks outside at around this age supervised for thirty minutes, than forty the next day, than fifty the day after that, etc... That was their dust bathing time. Although they usually dust bathed in the shavings as well
