My 4 week old cream brabanter started sneezing a bit yesterday. Now she's sneezing a lot (sometimes as much as a few times a min) and seems to have clear nasal fluid coming out of her nostrils. I took her out of the brooder (the other chicks seem fine) and brought her inside. She's VERY lethargic now and is just laying down, no eating or drinking yet. She's been separated for an hour now. I am using sand for the bedding in the brooder and just moved the brooder outside 1 day ago. They stil have a heat lamp and it's partially covered so there is some ventilation but keeps the wind out.
Any suggestions on what to do with her now??

I’m sorry you have to wait so long for a reply. How’s your chicken today? And the other one?

My answer brings you back to the top so others can see your question too..

She is doing great now! It probably wouldn't have helped if I had a reply sooner because at 2am that night, I ended up taking her to a Animal ER where they had an avian vet on call. She was gasping for air, seriously struggling to breathe and couldn't even keep her head up. She went from sneezing and running nose to that, in just under 12 hours. It was scary. It was an upper respiratory infection, which I suspected. They gave her antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory and 12 hours later she was good, 24 hours later she's my best friend, lol. We got lots of cuddle time.
Unfortunately, yesterday I noticed two more of the chicks looking lethargic, and one had raspy sound when breathing, ugh! I called the place I got them from and they gave me antibiotics for all of them, for free! They are already looking better and I palm on actually sleeping tonight instead of watching chicks, lol. Thanks for checking in on us!

I'm so glad it turned out ok!

I am so happy to hear your chicks are improving. We sure do get attached to our feathered friends, don't we? I am IN LOVE with Cream Brabanter's. They're so incredibly beautiful

I hope they are all doing better now? I really feel for you. I also have chicks in the brooder and bizarrely a couple of days ago found one of my flock birds in exactly the same way now they all have it about 10 of them and I’m absolutely terrified of transferring to the chicks. Thankfully antibiotics seems to have resolved it for most of them. So chicken and chick watch continues but is much less intensive than the last couple of days. It’s good to know that yours are all doing well! Hope you can get some respite.
