Ignore poop! Cleaning out the brooder and I stick them in the tub until I am done. :)

Chick 1: Supposedly either black marans or whiting true blue...pretty sure a roo. 4 weeks old!

Chick #2: Supposedly a whiting true blue or black marans...at first I thought roo, but comb and waddle are still very yellow compared to the other chick. 4 weeks old.

Chick #1 Looks like a Cuckoo Marans, and yes male. Marans telecast early.

Chick #2 Is another cuckoo/barred bird. I'm thinking another Cuckoo Marans (although the legs are too yellow) and likely female.

My thoughts.

Agreed. With breeds and gender. Chick 2 could be either gender, but I'm leaning towards female. And chick 1 is a cockerel.

I think they're both males.

If the only breed options are Marans or Whiting True Blue, then their combs say "Marans."
(Marans have a single comb, Whiting True Blue should have a pea comb.)
