Such a strange comb on this likely roo. The parents are both Japanese Bantams, dad a grey short legged. Mom a buff black tailed long legger.

I compared to photos of the parents at this age and the dad had a way bigger and redder comb. (see last pic- the dad is on the right at 4 weeks old) Any good guesses or knowledge? A keeper either way!!

I just got my first batch of bantam chicks. They are insanely cute but the two game bantams are very skittish. The cochins are like feathered puppies :love I didn't think I could like chickens more than I already did, but I was wrong, lol.

Awww, right? I have 2 Cochin bantams & they are like little friendly relaxed puppies! The Japanese Bantams are more nervous, 100%. 🤗 Love them all, and congrats on the new babies!!

Do you free range yours of have an enclosure for them? I'm debating on how to house them since we have small hawks in the area.

I haven't had issues with my standards since I wait until they're 6-8 weeks before free ranging, but the bantams could be snatched.
