4 week old muscovy

New to the ducks! And looking to find out the sex of our 4 week old friend If anyone can help?

Thank you! Yes definitely cute, has so much personality. This ones egg cracked and mum kicked it out of nest. Took a while to come good. We have others but different ages so a bit hard to tell. And they honestly look the same to me

Hopefully, some of the more experienced ‘Scovy people will chime in. I’ve only had Muscovies for 1 and 1/2 years. It took me over 4 months to determine the gender of my two... :idunno

For comparison, here’s what my two hens looked like when they were slightly older than your little guy/gal.

It's really hard at that age, we would guess with ours, but were normally wrong. You can sex them, but I was told you can really seriously hurt them if you do it wrong. Best bet is to wait for their tail feathers to come in, if they are curly, its a drake. Also, male ducks sound like grumpy old men, where females quack. Hope this helps... eventually!
 
Thank you, we’ve got some small tail feathers already through, yes I’ve heard vent sexing is hard and can harm so steering clear of that lol
