My older flock are all named after chicken dishes wings, nugget, cacciatore etc. The husband named those.

This crew I got the kids involved and here are some we are tossing around: LOTR, precious stones, chicken in different languages, flower names and the never ending list of anime characters.

For me I am thinking that Janet Bonney had it right and numbers work just fine.

my RIR have red berry names strawberry, rasberry ( which got shortened to raz-ma-taz when she went broody )cherry, you could go a little further with red fruits.
