OK folks i'm a newbie in need of help.I set 42 eggs in my hovabator given by a friend. It's day 23 .I candled most if not all of them and they looked viable, now when I look at them some look liquid and some have a large air bubble. Are they alive or dead and when do I give up on them?

I would not give up, if you had temp fluctuations(we all do) then they may be slightly slowed in hatching. Candleing now is gonna do no good, either they make it or they dont, the important thing now is to keep the bator closed, and keep the humidity/temp constant.
