I took my mother to the ill-mo show in the fall and she fell in love with the seabrights. now i have a pen open hmmm. where would I find ladies for him ?

Just some quick questions - did crossing in the Dutchies help with any infertility issues your Sebrights may have had? I love the birds but have avoided them because of this issue. It's nice to see some genetic diversity being worked into the breed. How difficult have you found it to get back to henny feathering on the cockerels? Has the lacing stayed clear? Any trouble with bishop throating from the cross-in? Did you introduce the lavender from Dutch roos, hens, or both? If both, did you notice any appreciable difference related to the gender of the Dutch parent? Sorry to trouble you, but I'm nuts for Dutchies, have a great lavender pair, and as I said, I have been interested in the Sebrights for years.

With the Lavender/Self-Blue gene breeding him to non-Lavender gened (neither lavender or splits) birds would not produce 50% splits. You might get 25% that are split for the lavender gene and there is no way to tell which daughter has the lavender gene and which doesnt.

You are only an hour and a half away from me! If I chose to bid and won could I pick him up in person?

Thanks,
