I have 2 peacocks who are 3 years old, and a peahen who is 2. I was dreading when puberty hit as I knew 2 peacocks and 1 peahen would be a big problem.
Of course the males were chasing her relentlessly and quarreling with each other. Last week we sectioned off a spot in the aviary and blocked them from seeing each other. She is alone now, scared and pacing her pen.
The peacocks are getting along now, but she is upset as shes never been alone. Can we allow them to see each other at least? No one, not even most animals, wants to be alone and vulnerable How can we help her?
***we do have free range chickens, but with the parasites they carry I wouldn't want to expose her to having one in her pen with her.***
