I thought it was time to show off my flocks of peas.
I don't officially breed, but we did hatch a few babies out last year, more to see if we could do it than anything. I have two adult boys, a cameo bs, who is just showing some white eye traits this year, and a regular IB, who was my very first pea. He has a long and interesting story, but the short story is that he was found, nearly dead at my husband's workplace. We took him home and the rest is history. I love all the different color mutations, and when building my flock, tried to find as many different ones as I could. I ended up with peach, peach pied, purple, purple possibly split to white (she has a few white wing feathers on each side), cameo bs, IB, IB pied white eye, IBBS, and a silly IB hybrid hen.
The babies, hatched from eggs from my original pair. We ended up with 3 girls and 2 boys, then bought two more girls (a purple and an IB pied white eye) around the same age. The first 4 we hatched will stay together in their own pen, and the second male (who was a lone hatch) and the two girls we bought will go into another pen come spring.
Our lone hatch boy. He's imprinted a little more than I wanted him to be, but I think it will be ok.
Finally, my original pair. I found out after hatching out their babies that they are both split to BS.
