only one button quail. he was in the bator when we checked it about 8 or 9 am today and still damp. i cant see any pips or zipping on the other eggs and he was crying so much after he got all fluffy i took him out. Now what he is all alone. How long should I give the rest of the eggs? Advice please
Thanks

I have one very very lonely little button quail . I am soo hopeing that at least one more egg hatches . Positive vibes, prayers, energy , what ever have is welcome. What do I do if thats the only one that does hatch though. Isnt he gonna be one sad little baby? Anyone??

Never had that problem of just one hatching but I do usually seem to always have one who will hatch first as long as a whole day before the rest of the eggs. Sending happy thoughts to your eggs and lonely baby! Good luck

give them three days extra if they dont hatch by then they arent going to hatch

Thanks for the imput =) . I have eggs comeing in a couple days so I think if no one has hatched by tammrow around 9am Ill open the tops if there are liveing babies Ill put them all back in but I dont think there will be its day 20 tammrow and nothing has happend for 48 hours by then from the single (still very lonely ) little button hatch.
I keep praying for just one more baby so this little one can have a friend.

I checked all the eggs. One was fully formed but didnt pip or hatch a couple were almost fully formed and a few quit early the rest were clear

Were the membranes in the eggs very dry? If so your humidity was not high enough. If it was still very wet they might have drowned in the egg. Bummer sorry to hear your hatch sucked:(

They seemed almost to wet actually

He is a cutie. Put a feather duster in with him for company or even a mirror will do. make sure he is warm enough and he will be fine. Where did you get your eggs? That is a really bad hatch rate, if you bought them I would let the seller know he/she may replace some of them.
Good Luck
Robin
