I'm very interested in this, as I'm going to buy a 40 ft. Sea Container for $4500..or around there. I plan on having 10 runs, with a small coop on the inside. I also plan on having brooders, grow out pens etc in it.

You have found a super good deal, you'd better snatch it up!

Oh I did. Those pictures were taken here after he delivered it. Got it for $1500 delivered from Tn an I bet it would have scrapped for at least that so I am glad to get it. Once I take the jacks an the tandoms out from under it to set it on the ground I can scrap them an get a lot of that back.

I wanted a container because on them a piece of plywood will snap in to the ribs an make walls easy but I am no where near the coast so there is not a lot around. $1500 was the high end of my budget anyway

*shudder* That picture brings back memories... I loaded boxes in those for a few years. I remember when it was hot outside, it was hotter than #$%^ in the back of those. You might want to think about some openings on the closed off side, otherwise the fans won't reach the back. If I remember correctly, I think the fan I had blowing in only moved air about 15' in.

Good luck with your build, should be pretty nice once you figure out the quirks.

I GAVE one of these away before we got chickens

they only had to come move it! It was in good shape but it was ugly and in the front yard. Now if it was in the back I might be regretting giving it away right about now. It was rusty red color

We were just glad we didn't have to pay to get it moved

A couple years ago they were $3500, that is no considered VERY cheap.

But...they will last forever, and I'd like to see a predator try and get in!

True! I guess since people are building houses with them they have gone way up over the years.
