All pullets. There is a drawn picture online of feather sexing someone made for cochins. It is 100% accurate for Bresse too. You can sex Bresse on hatch day by feather sexing.
Thank you PLwarped59, I saw that after they were older than a day old. Wish I had known that when they were a day old. The funny thing is that at 5 1/2 weeks, their combs and wattles looked too big and pink for pullets, but then they didn’t grow anymore or turn any pinker.
My understanding was that feather sexing only works if you cross a fast feathering male to a slow feathering female. Then the female chicks are fast feathering and the male chicks are slow feathering.
All I know is Cochins can be sexed by feathers every time, and I tried it on my Bresse chicks and was 100% accurate. I found the picture I used. I guess this isn't feather sexing, development sexing I suppose?
