5 1/2 week old Jumbo Quail

Hi everyone, My name is Amanda...I have some hens that are 5 1/2 weeks old and there are a couple that have pasty butts, I am fairly new to raising quail so I would greatly appreciate any advice on what to do for them and the reasoning behind the problem.

Also I know I need to put 1 male to about 3-4 females but if I separate the males in one pen with no female will they give me any problems?

It is possible they will still fight, even if no females are in the pen. If they can see the females in another pen near them, then yes, they probably would.
I tried it once with Coturnix quail, temporarily, and the males chased each other everywhere and even tried to mate with each other.
